Grandparents Day is September 12. Deliver a surprise that says “we love you” with a floral arrangement from Carithers Flowers.
History of Grandparents Day
In 1970, Marian McQuade, mother of fifteen children, grandmother of forty-three, and great-grandmother of ten, began campaigning for a special day to honor grandparents. Her unique situation drew national attention, and in 1978, President Jimmy Carter proclaimed that National Grandparents Day would be observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day.
